FAQ
Questions, answered.
The things people ask us most before they start planning.
Planning a cruise
How do I choose the right cruise line and ship?
Ships and lines differ a lot in size, style, dining, activities and who they suit best. Tell us who is sailing, what ages the children are and what a perfect day looks like, and we will narrow the options and explain the trade-offs.
Can you help with a first cruise?
Yes. First-time cruisers often have questions about cabins, dining, excursions and what is included. We walk you through those before you book, so there are fewer surprises on board.
Do I need a passport to cruise?
Requirements depend on your itinerary and citizenship. Some round-trip sailings from U.S. ports allow other documents, but a valid passport is strongly recommended and is required for many itineraries. We will confirm what applies to your sailing, and you should always check official government sources.
Should I fly in the day before my cruise?
Usually, yes. Arriving a day early gives you a buffer if a flight is delayed, so a delay does not mean missing the ship. We can help arrange flights and a pre-cruise hotel.
Can you book shore excursions and pre- or post-cruise stays?
We can help you plan excursions, hotel nights, transfers and extensions around your sailing. Options depend on the cruise line and port, and we will tell you what is worth booking ahead.
Can you arrange a group cruise?
Yes. Family reunions, weddings, milestone birthdays and friend trips can all sail together. Tell us the size of your group and the occasion, and we will explain what options and group benefits may be available.
Working with a travel advisor
What does a travel advisor actually do?
A travel advisor helps you plan and book a trip. That includes understanding what you want, comparing destinations and properties, putting the pieces together, answering questions along the way and helping if something changes before or during your trip.
Why use an advisor instead of booking online myself?
Online booking is great for simple trips. An advisor is most helpful when a trip has many moving parts, when you are choosing between lots of options, or when you simply would rather not spend hours researching. We do not promise a particular price, but we do aim to save you time and help you avoid common mistakes.
Do you charge a fee?
Fee structures can vary by type of trip and supplier. If any planning or service fees apply to your request, we will explain them clearly before you commit to anything.
Is there any obligation when I submit a trip request?
No. Submitting a request just starts the conversation. You decide whether to go ahead after you see our suggestions.
Planning your trip
What information should I include in my request?
The more you tell us the better, but you do not need every detail. Helpful basics include where you would like to go, approximate dates, who is traveling, a rough budget and what matters most to you. If you are not sure, say so and we will help narrow things down.
How soon will I hear back?
We aim to respond promptly, and we will follow up using the contact method you choose. Response times can vary at busy times of year.
I am not sure where I want to go. Can you still help?
Yes. Many requests begin with a feeling rather than a place, like wanting warm weather, a relaxing week or something the kids will love. Tell us what you are hoping for and we will suggest places that fit.
Can you help with flights?
We can help you coordinate flights as part of your trip. Availability and options depend on the trip and the suppliers involved.
How far ahead should I book?
It depends on the trip. Popular cruises, theme park vacations and holiday weeks often fill up early, so earlier is generally better. If your dates are close, send a request anyway and we will tell you what is realistic.
Booking and payments
How do payments work?
Payment schedules depend on the supplier and the type of trip. We will explain what is due and when before you book, so there are no surprises.
What if I need to change or cancel?
Change and cancellation rules are set by each airline, hotel, cruise line or tour supplier and vary widely. We will review the terms with you before booking and can help you with changes later, within those rules.
Should I buy travel insurance?
Travel insurance can help cover certain unexpected events, and what it covers varies by policy. We can explain options so you can decide what makes sense for your trip.
Before you travel
Do I need a passport?
Most international trips require a valid passport, and some require it to be valid for a certain period beyond your travel dates. Requirements change, so always confirm with official government sources and your advisor before booking.
What happens if something goes wrong while I am traveling?
Contact us and we will help where we can, working with the airline, hotel or cruise line involved. We cannot control weather or supplier decisions, but you will not be left to sort it out alone.
